Tatted Rose and Vine Edging

I needed an edging for a hand towel, and wanted something a bit different. This is what I came up with. It took me a bit to work out the details, but I really like it. This will be a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law, so I need to get busy to get it done on time!

This is a beginner pattern and requires one shuttle.

I used Lizbeth size 20 thread in Spring Garden color 124 and Leaf Green Medium color 684. In hindsight, I think it would have been better to pick a variegated that didn’t include the same color as the “vine” part of this pattern. The roses don’t stand out as well as I’d hoped.

Make as many of these as you’ll need for the length you’re making. Using size 20 thread, each rose and vine is about 1.5 inches (3.6 mm) in length.
